Lots of Wii News From the Reginator

Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, took the stage at the Nintendo press conference and unleashed a whole whack of tasty Wii-flavoured morsels for us to munch on. Being the Nintendo fanboy that I am, I gobbled it all up and left begging for more table scraps.

First, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has received an official release date of December 3rd. No more information regarding the title was mentioned, but you can stay tuned to the official SSBB blog for little tidbits leading up to that date. Super Mario Galaxy also received a release date: November 12th

Next, Mario Kart is heading to the Wii and it’s bringing a specially designed Wii Wheel with it. Reggie tells us that the game will be online, allowing for some crazy multiplayer races. The Regginator says, “More racers means more fun. How many more? Stay tuned.” The tentative release date is “early 2008.”

Third, the secretly spied Wii Zapper was officially unveiled. The $20 light gun accessory is described as the “first offspring of the Wiimote and the Nunchuk.” It should be compatible with a whole bunch of shooting games including “Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, and Medal of Honor (which will support up to 32 player multiplayer!).”

Fourth, something called the Wii Fit was announced. The kinetic mini-game collection is once again targeted at the casual games market, but it comes with a funky accessory. The “mysterious white pad that appears to track your center of gravity, or a big touch pad … for your feet.”
