Lips Not Smacking with Rock Band
You know there was a huge hullabaloo over the interoperability of Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments? You know how Neversoft and Harmonix tried their darndest to ensure that the instruments would actually work between the two games this time around? Well, it seems that Microsoft didn’t get the memo.
Modeled after games like Karaoke Revolution and SingStar is the “Lips” karaoke game for the Xbox 360. This is all pretty standard fare, but it seems that the included microphone will not work with Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour. At least not out of the box. The developers said that they may push out a patch at some point in the future, but if you’re hoping to double dip with this mic, you’ll be out of luck.
On a side note, the Lips microphone is actually a little more robust than the Logitech-sourced mics that come bundled with Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. This mic is wireless and it’s been “enhanced” with an accelerometer. Yup, shake what your mama gave you!
