Late 2008: Banjo-Kazooie 3 From Rare

I still remember playing the first Banjo-Kazooie game years ago on the Nintendo 64, thinking that it was almost a knockoff of Donkey Kong Country. Don’t get me wrong, cruising around that whimsical world as a bear and bird was a lot of fun, and then it just got quirkier with the release of Banjo-Tooie. If you’re looking to revisit this franchise, look no further than the end of this year.

That’s because Rare — which is owned by Microsoft — is working on Banjo-Kazooie 3 and they plan on releasing the game sometime in late 2008. This was revealed by Shane Kim, the head of Microsoft Game Studio, during an interview with Stephen Totilo of MTV. “I’m super-excited about what they’re doing with Banjo’ I think Banjo is going to be a big hit for us this holiday.”

Very little information was released, so we’ll just have to wait and see to find out more.
