Konami Working on Elebits Sequel for Wii

elebits2.jpg

When I bought my Nintendo Wii way back in December 2006, one of the first games that I purchased with Elebits. I have no problem playing games that have more of a childish appearance to them, so long as they are fun and this was my experience with the first Elebits game. The story was cheesy and the physics weren’t perfect, but Elebits was probably one of the best early games to make such great use of the Wii controls. You could actually turn a knob and open a door. It was wildly imaginative. Too bad the game itself wasn’t all that well designed.

There is now word going around that Konami is developing a sequel, appropriately named Elebits 2. The original game was known as Eledees in some regions, so I’d imagine that the sequel would be called Eledees 2 in those regions too. The current timeline calls for a launch on the Wii sometime later this year, but neither Konami nor Nintendo have confirmed the existence of Elebits 2.

The idea of the first game was great. Now they just have to work on the implementation and make things a heck of a lot smoother.
