King of Fighters 12 To Be Released In July

Hot on the heels of Street Fighter 4 is another fighting game that’s been around since forever. In fact, one can say that for better or for worse, this series has been more faithful in churning out sequel after sequel than Capcom’s fighter. The King of Fighters 12 is set for release later this year.

The King of Fighters is returning for its twelfth entry. Publisher Ignition Entertainment has revealed that KOFXII will be released worldwide for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this July, just a few months after the game debuts in Japanese arcades.

Because of the game’s 3 vs 3 premise, the number of playable characters has increased as the series progressed. The upcoming sequel is going to trim that to 20, down from 40. You’ll notice that the graphics have been overhauled. Still, Mai seems to be missing. I’ve been looking for her since the roster was revealed back in December.
