Japanese Trailer to Street Fighter Movie

Even though it was arguably cheesier than Velveeta, the live action Street Fighter movie with Jean Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia holds a special place in my heart. It didn’t really stick to the canonical story and the characters were a little off, but having Street Fighter represented on the silver screen was a fun experience.

We’re going to go through that again with the upcoming release of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Instead of focusing on Ken, Ryu, or Guile, we turn to the heroine of the series and how she came to hate M. Bison so much. I found the casting choice of Kristen Kreuk as the title character to be a little strange, but she’s far from being the only one who does not resemble her video game counterpart.

How is this movie going to turn out? Based on the Japanese trailer above, I’m still torn. I’ll probably be disappointed, but I’m watching it anyway.
