Infinite Undiscovery Previewed

Akayuki has a few screenshots of Infinite Undiscovery, a Square Enix RPG that’s not Final Fantasy. The game is being developed by tri-Ace, the studio responsible for the Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean series.

Personally, it’s kind of a mixed bag. Valkyrie Profile is a lore-player’s dream: there’s enough backstory, text and lore in the series to satisfy those with a craving for Norse mythology. And yes, that was intentionally spelled “lore”. Now, while I respect the attention to detail, I felt like the series took itself too seriously. However, I really liked Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, the only game I’ve played in the series so far. With that said, I’m not sure what to expect with Infinite Undiscovery is going to offer, but I’m hoping for the best.
