How Much is Guitar Hero: On Tour with NDS?

Rhythm games are hugely popular, but how will they translate to the portable game market? That question will be answered on June 22 when Guitar Hero: On Tour gets released on the Nintendo DS. As you may have heard, this game will come with a strange peripheral that plugs into the GBA slot, providing you with four fret buttons. Strumming and whammy-ing is done through the touchscreen display.

I’m not exactly sure how much fun it will be to rock out on such a fake guitar — the smaller versions found in Guitar Hero and Rock Band are already a little odd — but given the popularity of the DS Lite and the popularity of music games, Nintendo and Activision may have a winner on their hands.

In terms of pricing, nothing has been confirmed just yet, but Toys ‘R’ Us did list the special bundle on their site earlier for $179.99. This includes a special black and silver DS Lite branded with Guitar Hero, the game, and the fret button peripheral.
