Hands-On With Fallout 3
For those of you who are wondering how it feels to actually play Fallout 3, here’s a hands-on report.
If the Fallout universe were only an aesthetic, Bethesda would have completely nailed it with the upcoming Fallout 3.
Unfortunately, as my half an hour with the game a few moments ago demonstrated, all the external pieces are there, but the charm that made the series such a classic is almost entirely lacking.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Fallout 3 is going sell well. This is because both its lovers and haters are going to find it irresistible to purchase it. Let me explain why.
It’s easy enough for the lovers: first, you’ve got Fallout, one of the most highly-acclaimed RPG series of all time. Second, you have Bethesda, who have continued to release excellent titles with its Elder Scrolls line. Mix them together and you’ve got a winning combination of unique gameplay elements designed by an experienced development studio.
For the haters, it’s simply a matter of getting a taste of Fallout 3 and spitting everything all out. They already made up their minds that it will suck, but that won’t stop them from giving it at least one spin, just to give them meat to put on the chopping block.
