Halo 3 Tops Time Magazine’s Video Games of the Year

Time Magazine has just unleashed no fewer than 50 top 10 lists as part of their year-end special and one of these lists is for video games. While we don’t really believe that Time Magazine is a big authority on the world of video games, it’s undeniable that they have a huge influence on the mainstream, so this list will likely affect how things go down at local retailers.

Sitting at the top of the list is Halo 3 for the Xbox 360. Not a huge surprise here, considering how many people camped outside for days just so that they could get their hands on a copy. Diehard fans plopped down the extra dough to get the Legendary Edition, only to discover that the included Master Chief helmet is not wearable. Shame.

Among the praise that Time sings for Bungie and Halo 3… “Every level is perfectly paced and balanced and graced with soaring architectural compositions. Plus it’s graphically gorgeous. The epic storyline and the stirring score don’t hurt either.”
