Guitar Hero World Tour Reviews

Rock Band 2 may have gotten the head start (at least on the Xbox 360), but it seems like Neversoft and Activision have come forth with a very valiant effort in Guitar Hero World Tour. As you know, World Tour is the first in the Guitar Hero franchise to feature instruments beyond the guitar. You get a five-pad drum set and a microphone to boot. So, how does it stand up to the competition?

According to most of the reviews that have been filtering through the Internet thus far, GHWT is good, but not perfect.. IGN gives the game 8/10, but says that “Neversoft hasn’t been able to catch up to Rock Band quite yet. And yes, I’m talking about last year’s game, and not even Rock Band 2.” Boomtown found an issue with the note charts, particularly with higher difficulty settings. TeamXbox is impressed with the new guitar hardware and Eurogamer loves the drums.

VideoGamer.com sums it up by saying that “Guitar Hero World Tour is pretty darn wonderful.” Having played it for a couple of hours, I’m inclined to agree.
