Guitar Hero Meets American Idol

If you thought American Idol brought out the crazies, you’ve got to check out this competition being hosted by Activision. They’ve taken an American Idol-like stage, complete with a trio of judges and a rocking backdrop, and they’re asking for entrants to rock out with a little plastic guitar. It’s almost like an air guitar competition, except the contestants are each holding onto a Guitar Hero guitar.

The prize is not about getting a record deal from Simon Cowell. Instead, Activision is offering something way cooler. The winner will be appearing in the next Guitar Hero game as a selectable character! That’s insane. And that’s why all the crazies have come out in full force.
