Guitar Hero IV Drum Kit Has Five Pads

The name of the game may be Guitar Hero IV, but it’s not just about frets and strum bars for this upcoming addition to the rhythm game franchise. Faced with the multiplayer competition of Rock Band, Activision is expanding its portfolio in the realm of drum sets for Guitar Hero IV and we’ve got the first look.

As you can see from the image provided, the drum kit for Guitar Hero IV is distinctly different than the one that comes with Rock Band. Instead of four pads, the Guitar Hero IV drum kit has three pads and two cymbals. This adds an extra dynamic to the game and could add a certain level of difficulty. It’s also notable that the pads are pressure sensitive, meaning that it’s different if you tap lightly or slam on them hard.

Other notable features are that the GH drum kit will be wireless and it will be quieter than its RB counterpart. And yes, it still has the bass pedal.
