Guitar Hero Action Figures by McFarlane

Yes, I realize that Guitar Hero has become quite the cultural phenomenon. It may not have been quite as influential as an icon like Mario or Dance Dance Revolution, but Guitar Hero brought the rhythm game genre into the mainstream. We could finally rock out for real (through our tiny guitars) to the likes of Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Tenacious D.

As such, it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that McFarlane Toys is putting together a series of action figures inspired by the Guitar Hero franchise. As you know, you can already get a wide range of McFarlane action figures featuring sports stars, movie characters, and even Master Chief from Halo. Guitar Hero fits right in, I guess.

The characters getting ready for this fall are Johnny Napalm, Axel Steel (pictured), Lars Umlaut, and God of Rock. Each six-inch figure will come with 15 to 18 moving parts and they’ll sell for $10 to $15 each.
