Guile’s Theme On Guitar & The Transformers Game

Girl + Guitar + Game + Guile’s Theme = Absolute Win

I hope that got you into the mood a bit. It certainly worked on me. I watched the video four times before I could continue writing.

The first screenshot of the obligatory game tie-in for the Transformers movie has appeared. It features Bumblebee.

Frankly, I hope that both the movie and the game won’t suck. The last Transformers game was Armada, based on the cartoon series of the same name. Although the platform-style gameplay was a bit repetitive, the overall experience was still enjoyable (roughly a 7/10 for me).

Details of the upcoming game taken from Kotaku:

TRANSFORMERS: THE GAME
FACT SHEET FOR ALL VERSIONS (Gameplay information based on console and PC versions)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Based on TRANSFORMERS, DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures’ upcoming live-action feature film due out July 4th, and produced in association with Hasbro, TRANSFORMERS: The Game lets gamers control the outcome in the battle for Earth as they choose to protect it as AUTOBOTS or destroy it as DECEPTICONS. Players will also experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favorite ROBOTS IN DISGUISE such as BUMBLEBEE, BARRICADE and others.

KEY FEATURES:
• Protect Or Destroy The Earth – As the TRANSFORMERS robot’s war comes to Earth, gamers make the choice to join the AUTOBOTS in protecting our planet or to join the DECEPTICONS in destroying it. With dual campaigns, the fate of the world is in players’ hands.

The Decepticons are playable? I’m raising it as a question because one of the distinctions between the two opposing forces, aside from their obvious moral differences, is that the Decepticons are capable of flight while the Autobots are usually grounded. This is true in the Generation One and Armada versions of the Transformers. One of the criticisms of the Armada game was that only the Autobots were playable and that meant you could only transform as cars. No jets like Starscream or a helicopter like Cyclonus (or big friggin’ tank for that matter). So, if the Decepticons are playable, then it’s possible that flight could be available. That could change gameplay drastically. Or not. We’ll see.
