Guild Wars 2 Delayed
The highly-anticipated sequel Guild Wars 2 has been delayed, according to a finance briefing document from NCsoft. The release date is estimated to be between 2010 and 2011. Since it’s only February 2009, it’s going to be quite a long wait for fans of the game.
The original Guild Wars made waves back in the day by offering what others did not: a free-to-play model. There were no subscriptions and no fees. All you had to do was to buy a retail copy as if it was any other game and you’d be able to play it online. It was also well-received by the critics, receiving high marks for its graphics—which are way better than WoW’s, by the way—and balanced gameplay.
With Guild Wars 2 delayed, players will have to wait longer to get a taste of what’s to come. Perhaps this will give them time to try out other MMOs.
