Godzilla to ravage your Wii, touch your DS, attack your PSP

I played Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for the Nintendo GameCube when it first came out and I thought it was going to be like that classic King of Monsters arcade fighting game. It was, sort of, but the novelty wore off really quickly and you couldn’t pay me to control that overgrown lizard again. Maybe with the new control schemes on the Nintendo DS and Wii, it’ll be worth another go-around, because according to DS Fanboy, the storied beast from Japan is reading to storm both Nintendo’s dual-screened portable and its motion sensitive home console. What’s more, Godzilla is getting unleashed on the PSP too. No mention of an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 title just yet.

Pipeworks, a subsidiary (?) of Atari, will be working on the sequel. Keep in mind that it was also Atari that did Destroy All Monsters Melee. We can probably expect appearances from all sorts of other overgrown beasts, though the specific cast list has not yet been released. According to developers (as quoted by Joystiq), “Godzilla can be walking in one direction, attacking with his claws in another, firing his weapon in a third direction, and swinging his tail at a rear target all at the same time.” The Wii version will also support 480p and WiiConnect24.
