God Of War 2 & PS3 Backward Compatibility Update
Gamespot’s God of War 2 review is out. Their verdict:
You could easily tag God of War II as “more of the same,” but while the game definitely feels familiar, there’s more to it than just a simple rehash of what made God of War fun. Its tighter, more focused pacing and dedication to creating vast, memorable levels sets it apart from the last game and makes it a better overall experience. Simply put, it’s easily one of the best action adventure games of the last console generation, and it even trumps much of what has been shown in the current generation. For fans of the first game, and fans of bloody, violent, exciting action in general, God of War II shouldn’t be missed.
They gave it a 9.2, a fitting score for what is probably the last great game for the PS2.

Speaking of the PS3, remember the backward compatibility issue? Kotaku reports that the Inquirer managed to get their hands on the test results of a PS3 with 12 PS2 titles. The conclusion? One of twelve worked. The dirty dozen included the following:
- God of War
- MGS 2: Sons of Liberty
- MGS 3: Snake Eater
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Guitar Hero 2
- Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
- Okami
- GTA: Liberty City Stories
- Eragon
- Final Fantasy X-2
- Ratchet & Clank 3
- Lumines Plus
The only working title? Number 9. It’s so significant I don’t even want to have to re-type it.
