Get Your Game Face On
New York Times Magazine photographer Robbie Cooper has a short video of young gamers doing what they do best: playing games. The twist here is that you don’t actually see what games they’re playing. Instead, there’s a focus on what their faces look like while they’re playing. I suggest you watch the clip first before we go on.
To tell you the truth, I had similar thoughts back in high school and early college, when I was still an arcade gamer. I wasn’t concerned about my entire face though, just one part: my mouth. The reason is because I noticed back then that a lot of players seemed to play with their mouths open, the kind of expression that you have when you let your jaw drop loose. So I always made a conscious effort to keep it closed. How about you? What’s your game face? Have you even thought about how you look like when you’re playing?
