Gen Added To Street Fighter Movie
I found out today that the upcoming Street Fighter movie has an official blog up and that the film itself has an official title: Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li. A new cast member was added recently. Robin Shou will be portraying Gen, an old friend of Chun-Li’s father.
Rounding out our cast, portraying Gen, the sage kung-fu master and Chun Li’s mentor, will be none other than…Robin Shou! Sound familiar? It should. Robin already brought one of the most famous video game characters of all time to life, as Mortal Kombat’s Liu Kang. So it should come as no surprise that Street Fighter will be right up his alley. I’ve seen the man in full costume and makeup and I promise you this- the dude is damn near unrecognizable. But hey, don’t take my word for it. Behold an EXCLUSIVE first look at…Robin Shou as Gen!
He doesn’t look as old as his video game counterpart, but that’s okay as long as he can kick ass. The video game version of Gen trained Yin and Yang Lee, characters who appeared in Street Fighter III. He also withstood Akuma’s signature death move, the Raging Demon. With those credentials, he should be portrayed by someone formidable. Since Shou appeared as Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat movies, that requirement shouldn’t be a problem.

Robin Shou is the best at what he does.He is the only one I can compare to Bruce Lee’s martial arts skille.
