Gaming = Good Family Fun
Amidst all the gaming hate brought about by politicians who have probably never played video games themselves, a PopCap Games survey yielded positive results among gamers and their families.
The survey, commissioned by PopCap Games, started with nearly 7,500 adult respondents–about 2,300 indicated that a child under the age of 18 played casual games in their home. Of that group, 80% play games with their kids or grandkids, and 66% said that they would welcome the use of similar games in their children’s schools.
Bottom line: gaming strengthens family ties. I know, I know, titles from PopCap Games aren’t exactly for the hardcore crowd, but let’s remember that the anti-gaming folk don’t make distinctions between “casual” and “hardcore”, so a survey like is definitely good news. Gaming can be good for you! Spread the word!
