Funcom Apologizes For Boobs Mix-Up

Developers of the newly-released MMO Age of Conan apologized recently for accidentally shrinking breasts in the game. No, I am not making this up. Boobs are serious business.

“Funcom can confirm that some of the female models in the game have had the size of their breasts changed,” the company said in a statement. “This is due to an unintended change in data that was introduced in an earlier patch, data which controls the so-called morph values associated with character models and the size of their respective body parts.

“We are working on a fix for this and your breasts should be back to normal soon.”

It’s a comical mix-up, but you have to consider that the game’s mature rating is part of its selling points. With World of Warcraft’s domination of the MMO scene, rival game companies have found it difficult to grab their own slice of the pie, forcing them to re-evaluate their strategies to come up with a title that would not be a WoW clone. Age of Conan’s mature rating clearly sets it apart from WoW’s audience, a gamble that its publisher hopes to profit from.
