You know you made your mark when one of your names, phrases or words become part of everyday language. While non-gamers will be unable to relate, players are familiar with the word “zerg”. Aside from referring to one of the factions in StarCraft, it can also mean relying on strength in numbers to win the day. It also implies rushing, offering little in terms of unit diversity and micromanagement.

Most noticeable was the lovely look of the Creep, the purplish goo that the hivemind race builds upon. It has a constant visual pulse to it, not something that distracts when one actually gets one’s hands on the keyboard and mouse.

There’s really no summary that will prove satisfactory in this case, so it’s better to simply hit the link and read the source in full.
