Fallout 3 News: DLC & HD Texture Pack
Can’t get enough of Fallout 3? Here are two things that will make your day. First, Fallout 3 DLC was revealed today, starting with Operation: Anchorage. It’s set in the distant past that no other title in the series has visited: the days before the bombs started falling. Expect to see a very different environments compared to what you’re used to. It will add 4-5 hours of gameplay, depending on how you approach it. Also, it’s heavily focused on combat, so don’t expect to be able to use diplomacy with this one.
The second bit of news is something you can avail of right now. If you’ve had your fill of the game’s visuals but want more, a fan-made HD texture pack is available for download. Now you can enjoy seeing the Capital Wasteland in all its destroyed glory. A word of warning though: you’ll need serious hardware to enjoy it without experiencing slowdowns. If your rig has the juice to support it, then go out and try it. The instructions are available at the site.
