Eminem Almost Starred in Grand Theft Auto Movie

Grand Theft Auto is easily one of the greatest video game franchises of all time. As soon as we took the jump over to the third dimension, we were hooked and we never looked back. So, don’t you think it would have been awesome if they managed to create a GTA movie that was true to the video game? Well, it almost happened. And it almost starred Eminem.

According to Variety, the Eminem-headlining Grand Theft Auto movie was virtually a done deal with one of the six major movie studios backing the project. It almost had the go ahead last spring, and trade mags were so sure of it that a number of them already started doing interviews in preparation for writing some groundbreaking articles on the upcoming flick.

We’re not sure why decided to can the project, so we’re just left wondering what could have been. No GTA for Slim Shady.
