Console Gaming: Let’s Accessorize!
These days it’s not just about getting the console anymore. It’s not enough to simply get the console and its games. You have to accessorize and make it look good, adding the bling-bling and the whatnot that’ll make your console the centerpiece of your living room.
I think that’s what the guys at NCSX had in mind when they released three replacement shells for the Xbox 360. Available in black, chrome and diamond (transparent), the shells are impressive substitutes to the standard vanilla look of the console. At $49.00 USD, they’re a bit expensive, but that’s the price you have to pay for beauty. One of them, at least. The other thing that you’ll lose is the warranty on your Xbox 360. The online guide provides step-by-step installation instructions, which includes removing the warranty seal. But hey, if you can make your console look like a futuristic toaster then it’s a done deal right?
In what is probably only the beginning of a long line of accessories for the Wii, you can get Power Gloves to add some realism to the Wii boxing experience. The gloves are basically cushioned enclosures for the nunchuk and the Wiimote so they’re not exactly revolutionary. It’s arguable if these are more useful than the plastic attachments you can get for the other events in Wii Sports. I guess that remains to be seen.
