Bubble Bobble Arrives on Wii Virtual Console

If you’re still coming up short with last minute New Year’s Eve party ideas, look no further than the Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii. You’ve got a huge supply of nostalgia at your fingertips and I don’t think you can go wrong by going a little retro. After all, you can’t rock out to Guitar Hero III all night, can you?

A trio of classic titles were released on the Wii Virtual Console today, the most notable of which is Bubble Bobble from the original NES. If you’re in the mood for a blast from the past — and blowing a few bubbles out of the mouth of a cutesy-wootsy dinosaur along the way — you should definitely peep the video above. Bubble Bobble goes for 500 Wii Points and yes, it’s perfectly capable of handling two players at the same time. That soundtrack is unmistakable!

The two other titles released on the Virtual Console are Light Crusader (Genesis, 800 Points) and Top Hunter (NeoGeo, 900 Points).
