Bomberman Blows Up on Apple iPhone

With the upcoming launch of the iPhone App Store, owners of the popular Apple handheld could be treated to some rather fantastic (and touching) games. We’ve already heard rumors about titles like Bioshock, but for some real explosive action, you have no choice but to turn to Hudson and its Bomberman franchise.

Bomberman Touch: Legend of the Mystic Bomb has been formally announced for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, adding to a long-standing heritage of fantastic bomb-themed adventures for our bobblehead-like friend. The video trailer is embedded above, give you a sense of what the controls will be like. From what we can gather, you have a virtual d-pad on the left and a “bomb” button on the right.

Hudson says that the game also takes advantage of the accelerometer in some way. I wonder how that comes into play…
