Blizzard Reveals A New Class For Diablo 3: The Wizard

Blizzard revealed a new class for Diablo 3: the Wizard. Here’s the preview:

You’ll notice that she holds the orb no matter where she goes, so I’m already wondering if that represents some sort of significance. Unlike Diablo 2′s Sorceress class, the Wizard is not locked down to elemental magic, which is a welcome change since even World of Warcraft’s mages are bound to fire and ice, with arcane thrown in for good measure. It’s a Blizzard staple to have its spellcasters dabble in the elements, but seeing them delve into other magic is a welcome departure.

And before you say it, yes, I’m also glad that we didn’t see an aging man in a pointy hat.
