Apple iPhone Has Games After All

Over the weekend, it is said that 500,000 Apple iPhones were sold. That’s a very impressive figure and it speaks volumes about the tremendous job Apple has done marketing their freshman foray into the cell phone market. People love the multi-touch interface and sleek construction, but that’s not to say that the iPhone is not without its shortcomings.

Unlike most other mobile phones being sold today, the Apple iPhone does not come pre-loaded with ANY mobile games whatsoever. There’s no rudimentary version of Snake, Bejeweled, Tetris… nothing. Sure, you could just enjoy something from your music or video library while waiting at the bus stop, but we’re gamers and, well, we need our games.

Thankfully, a handful of websites have come to rescue. More specifically, guys like iGiki, fun4iPhone, and MacMost have stepped up to the plate with some basic Javascript games to keep us entertained. These games are very simple, so don’t expect to be playing a version of Madden anytime soon.

Now we just have to wait for Apple to send some iPhones across the 49th parallel.
