Afro Samurai Video Game Confirmed

What do you get when you cross Japanese-style anime with Samuel L. Jackson? A black warrior with a big ass afro, of course! And what better name to give this unique character than Afro Samurai. The hugely popular animated series is finally getting its own video game! Namco Bandai picked up the license three long years ago and now they’ve finally decided to create a game.

The details are very, very slim at this point. Namco Bandai has not mentioned which systems they’re developing for (Wii controls would be awesome, especially if they do a better job with it than the not-so-good Red Steel) nor have they said what sort of storyline or even type of game it’s going to be. The one thing that we do know is that they are shooting for a 2008 release.

Given that it is based on an animated series, it might be a good idea to take the cel-shaded approach… or would you prefer some funky 3D stuff? And of course, they have to enlist the services of Mr. Jackson for voice work, right?
