Aerosmith Dislikes Rock Band Guitars

The interoperability of guitar peripherals has been a thorn in the side of many rhythm game enthusiasts and with the upcoming releases of Guitar Hero: World Tour, as well as a new music game franchise from Konami, we could be in for even more headache and heartache. Even before those two new games are released, it seems that many gamers could be in for a world of frustration.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was recently a very short while ago and it turns out that you cannot use Rock Band guitars with this game. This is basically the flip side of what happened when Rock Band was released on the PS3, because Guitar Hero guitars didn’t work with it. The above screen is from the Xbox 360 version of GH:A, but we imagine that it will be much the same for Rock Band and GH:A on the Wii.

Naturally, the Les Paul from Guitar Hero III works just fine with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. At least those games are compatible. Sheesh!
