3 Consoles, 2 Reviews & A WoW Video Contest
Gamespot posted its reviews for Supreme Commander and Virtua Fighter 5. If you’ve been waiting for reviews about those games, you can read them now.
I had a chance to play Supreme Commander a few days ago and it delivers on its promise of being a superb real-time strategy game. You can forget about squads and heroes and all that. The game is about taking war on a grand scale.
Speaking of war, the console sales numbers for January are in. Bloomberg reports:
Nintendo Co.’s Wii outsold Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 during January as consumers bought 436,000 of the video-game consoles.
Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 was the second-most purchased machine with sales of 294,000, followed by PlayStation 3 with 244,000, Credit Suisse analyst Heath Terry said today in a report, citing NPD Group Inc. data.
Wii is outselling PlayStation 3 by almost 2-to-1, the report said.
Once again, Wii have a winner! Pardon the bad pun, but I couldn’t resist.
Finally, YouTube is holding a World of Warcraft video contest. If you’ve got a funny WoW video in hand, then by all means join the competition. The prize is a brand new PC powered by the new Intel CoreTM 2 Extreme quad-core processor.
